Porn Blogging Weekend: Promiscuous Housewife & Sexual Aberrations

These last two items may not classify as pornography to many, but they make for some slightly titillating nonfiction.

The item (on the left in the image) is a 1961 manuscript edition of Rey Anthony's Housewife's Guide on Selective Promiscuity. Dedicated "to my five daughters", it offers a very candid sexual biography of a woman born in a small east Texas town of the mid-1920s. Offering details of her sexuality as a child, her own sexual awakening as an adolescent, and all the marriages, affairs, and divorces that followed. Definitely a must-read if you can get your hands on it.

The other book is the first English edition of volume two of Dr. Wilhem Stekel's Sexual Aberrations, a seminal work on the subject of paraphelia. It bears the subtitle The Phenomena of Fetishism in Relation to Sex, which is somewhat of an understatement. Apron, nail, and heel fetishes are described through fascinating case studies. I feel that the most astounding case is that of a physician with a fetish for items orthopedic. The patient is seeking help for this sexual condition which is described as follows:
He is provoked only by handsome young men with whole limbs which are pressed into splints or trusses of some kind. Crutches also animate his fancy. But if a man has only one leg then his pleasure is but a tithe of that which he derives from a whole man.

This may not seem bizarre to those familiar with clinical psychology, but the imagery is just fascinating to me. The description of his picture collection "consist[ing] of cuts from orthopedic books and magazines" is quite interesting, but the main feature of this chapter is the extensive dream analysis that Freudians were famous for.

And did I mention that the dust jacket is in perfect condition?
