CBS Poll: The "Blame Game" Spin isn't working
CBS News | CBS Poll: Blame All Around | September 8, 2005 10:00:04
Key numbers:
Bush's Handling of Katrina: 38% Approve, 58% DisapproveSo despite the spin attempting to blame the failed response entirely on Blanco and Nagin, 58% Disapprove of Bush's handling of the response and perhaps more importantly, 77% do not believe that the Federal response was accurate to 70% that don't believe the state and local responses were accurate.
"Was the Federal Government Response to Katrina Adequate?"
Yes - 20%
No - 77%
"Were the State and Local Government Responses to Katrina Adequate?"
Yes - 24%
No - 70%
Had I been polled I would have indicated disapproval for Bush and inadequate response from BOTH the Federal and State/Local governments. There is plenty of room for responsibility all around. The dishonesty of the wingnuts in attempting to completely absolve Bush of any responsibility while piling it on to Blanco and Nagin is a sign of desperation which will only increase over the next days and weeks.
