Republicans Have More Fun

Malkin's defense of Rove's recent comments got me to thinking. I should feel ashamed for supporting the invasion of Afghanistan, calling for the arrest, trial, and sentencing of bin Laden and Co., and most importantly, I should be ashamed that I didn't believe Bush's WMD argument. By placing all this shame at my feet, they're telling me I should be ashamed for holding on to American ideals.

Rove:

Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 in the attacks and prepared for war; liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers.

Although, I've never met a liberal who thought bin Laden's Oedipus complex is behind his "acting out", I've come across many conservatives who want to revise history. It allows them to lash out at liberals without having to lie as much. With fake facts on their side, they just can't lose. They really do have more fun.

In many ways, Michelle is right. Liberals shouldn't become "unhinged" over Rove's implication that they're a bunch of terrorist sympathizers. He's not in the same league as Durbin, a respected Senator who speaks his mind. Rove is a partisan who speaks to rally his misguided and hateful base. Keep it up, guys! And have fun!
