Who Said MTV Was Anti-Bush?

ABC News (Reuters) :: Nine Inch Nails drops MTV show over image of Bush

(via John Aravosis of AMERICAblog)

I remember hearing a lot of whining during the run up to November second that MTV and its Rock the Vote campaign were tacitly supporting Kerry by bringing up the draft issue.

This story about Nine Inch Nails pulling the scheduled performance of their latest single "The Hand That Feeds" from MTV Movie Awards next week should calm the 101st Fighting Keyboards. Here's the statement from Trent Reznor himself off of the band's website:

Nine Inch Nails will not be performing at the MTV Movie Awards as previously announced. We were set to perform "The Hand That Feeds" with an unmolested straightforward image of George W. Bush as the backdrop. Apparently the image of our President is as offensive to MTV as it is to me. See you on tour this Fall when we return to America.

Want to bet that MTV wouldn't have pulled this shit if John Fogerty wanted to play Fortunate Son with this picture as the backdrop?
