The Reverend Mykeru, as a man of the cloth, has doubtlessly counseled thousands in times of need throughout his lifetime. With unflagging compassion, today he has some advice for the gay pedophile Republican hypocrite mayor of Spokane, Washington, Jim West. Did I mention that he was a powerful Republican? He knew that what he was doing was a no-no, too:

"Some day I may run for governor," he wrote, "and this would be bad if you know what I mean."

Ya think, Jim?

Gay pedophilia hits very close to home for most Republicans. Wingnuts everywhere are readying the smokescreen to protect one of their own. I can hear them now, "Why do liberals hate homosexuals? Will the liberals please take a position on homosexuality so that we know whether or not we are supposed to hate them?" [Update: The self-flagellators at Wizbang have spun the story to blame "fringe homosexual activists" for the problem - not teen boy-fucker Jim West. They even helpfully link to a blog's story, "Is Jim West really a hypocrite? I'm not convinced."]

Of course most of us do not hate homosexuals... We hate Republican hypocrites and men who prey on young people. It isn't difficult to take a consistent stand against hypocrisy and pedophilia - at least not for us liberals. Why is it so hard for our Republican friends to do so?
