The 'I' word - The Boston Globe - Boston.com - Op-ed - News
The Downing Memo story is beginning to get traction, which is good for everyone. If the Bush Administration deliberately deceived the American public and the world about their intent to invade Iraq and the intelligence to justify the invasion, then war-supporting conservatives have been lied to as well and made fools of, and hundreds of thousands of US and coalition soldiers have been put in harms way because of lies.
Everybody knows that this is the case. The right, however, chooses not to acknowledge it. With the Downing Street Memo as additional circumstantial proof that these deceptions occurred, it gets harder for the right to defend Bush and the march to war.
We need to keep hammering away at this issue.
The link above is to a Boston Globe Op-Ed from today spelling out the sequence of events and calling for the use now of "the 'I' word."
It's not going to happen unless/until the Dems regain control of Congress in 2006 (not likely), but it makes for good talking points...
