I am not a big fan of Michelle Malkin (reprise)
This is a copy of a post that I wrote in August of 2004 that addresses some of the origins of my bizarre fascination with Michelle and Jesse. I hope that it provides some insight into my motivation as well as what is wrong with the flavor of punditry that they are engaged in.
I am not a big fan of Michelle Malkin.
I "discovered" her recently due to what I viewed as a mean, racist and partisan attack on the decision by the Worcester, Massachusetts school district to include a book of poems by the late Tupac Shakur in their list of recommended summer reading.
Her attack was snide, vicious and smug.
I've discovered recently that while she has a lot of fans, there are probably more people out there who think she is full of shit.
I found a site today that posted unflattering photographs of her, which I linked to from this post.
I did so under the "Live by the Sword, Die by the Sword" rules of engagement.
I've decided that that isn't good enough, so I have removed the link to those photos.
Evoking "Live by the Sword, Die by the Sword" would make me no better than she is. I know that I am better than she is, and I do not wish to stoop to her level.
I'm glad that there are intelligent people out there who are prepared to respond in a balanced fashion to her skewed rhetoric. The picture game, however, is probably not the best way to prove a point.
Update: Here is a link to a transcript of the FoxNews show that I saw her on where she talked about the Worcester, Massachusetts School District's summer reading list:

And here is a link to her syndicated article on the topic:

And here is a poem by Tupac Shakur taken from that book:
The Rose that Grew from Concrete
Did you hear about the rose that grew
from a crack in the concrete?
Proving nature's law is wrong it
learned to walk with out having feet.
Funny it seems, but by keeping it's dreams,
it learned to breathe fresh air.
Long live the rose that grew from concrete
when no one else ever cared.

That's some really terrible stuff, isn't it?

Even more: Impeccable research as to the people behind Michelle Malkin - the pro-Nazi folks at Regnery publishing.
