The Winger Irregulars

Michelle Malkin, Glenn Reynolds, Hugh Hewitt, Jay Tea, "Hindrocket" and the rest of the Winger Irregulars can relax tonight with their feet up on their desks and new trophys on their walls.
It feels good to destroy a man in the prime of his working life, particularly one who is ideologically inferior.
This is the power that they have been looking for. It has finally been realized. They had a taste of it with Kerry and the Swiftboats, but it wasn't quite enough that time around. They had a taste of it with Rather and the Texas Air National Guard memos. Tasting blood without getting the kill is like having an itch you can't scratch.
Now that they have the power the urge to use it again will be nearly irresistable. The question now is whether or not this right-wing digital junta is smart enough to restrain their shock troops or whether their lust for more blood will overwhelm them. Their lists of grievances and enemies are long. In their eyes there is a great deal of work to be done. They have demonstrated that they have the power to do this work where everyone else has failed - why should they hold back?
The weeks and months ahead will be interesting. Will they allow the freedom-haters who walk among us to continue to get away with giving aid and comfort to the terrorists? What will happen the next time Kennedy gives a speech about Iraq that they disagree with? What will they do about Al Franken? How will they handle moderate Republican politicians like Lincoln Chafee and Olympia Snowe who might not go along with plans to privatize Social Security? What about the next Republican who says that Rumsfeld should resign?
Time will tell.
