Breaking Ranks with the GOP

Representative Doug Bereuter (Republican) of Nebraska has done the right thing and denounced the war in Iraq.

"I've reached the conclusion, retrospectively, now that the inadequate intelligence and faulty conclusions are being revealed, that all things being considered, it was a mistake to launch that military action, especially without a broad and engaged international coalition."

I have no doubt that Republicans will be disparaging Bereuter within hours, unleashing a cacophony of lies and criticism about him which will reach a crescendo this weekend during the Sunday morning tak shows.

The truth is out there, and in the weeks to come, more and more people will step over onto the side of reason. Amen.
